Hordorff legt Amt beim DTB nieder
Dirk Hordorff ist von seinem Amt als Vizepräsident des Deutschen Tennis Bundes (DTB) zurückgetreten. Dies teilte der langjährige Funktionär über seine Anwälte am Mittwoch mit. Zuvor war der 66-Jährige vom DTB nach Vorwürfen gegen seine Person zu diesem Schritt aufgefordert worden.
"Mein Amt als Vizepräsident des Deutschen Tennisbundes habe ich heute niedergelegt. Ich möchte dadurch auch Schaden für den DTB vermeiden", hieß es in einer Stellungnahme: "Ich werde meine Kraft nunmehr voll und ganz auf die Widerlegung der unwahren Vorwürfe konzentrieren. Das in den Medien kolportierte, gegen mich gerichtete Verfahren wurde am 28. März 2023 von der Staatsanwaltschaft Frankfurt nach § 170 Absatz 2 StPO eingestellt."
In Berichten von Süddeutscher Zeitung, NDR und Sportschau hatten ein ehemaliger und ein aktueller Profi ihrem früheren Trainer Hordorff Machtmissbrauch in mehreren Fällen vorgeworfen, der DTB wusste nach eigenen Angaben seit mehr als einem Jahr darüber Bescheid. Hordorff weist die Vorwürfe als "schlicht unwahr" zurück.
