NOK-Dachverband kritisiert Ukraine für Boykott-Ankündigung
Der Dachverband aller nationalen Olympischen Komitees ANOC hat die ukrainische Regierung für ihre Boykott-Ankündigung von Wettbewerben mit Aktiven aus Russland und Belarus kritisiert. "Jegliche Boykottaufrufe der Regierung sind ein direkter Eingriff in die Autonomie des Sports und stellen eine klare Politisierung des Sports dar", teilte der ANOC-Exekutivrat am Freitag nach einer Sitzung in Madrid mit.
Die ukrainische Regierung hatte ihre Sportlerinnen und Sportler zuvor angewiesen, nicht an Wettbewerben teilzunehmen, bei denen Russen und Belarussen am Start sind. Das Land reagierte damit von höchster Stelle auf die Empfehlung der Exekutive des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees (IOC) vom Dienstag, einzelne Sportlerinnen und Sportler aus Russland und Belarus unter Bedingungen wieder zu internationalen Wettkämpfen zuzulassen.
Auch in dieser Frage befindet sich die Vereinigung der olympischen Spitzensportverbände unverändert auf IOC-Linie. "Wir unterstützen nachdrücklich die Position der IOC-Exekutive und werden uns weiterhin für die Einheit der Olympischen Bewegung und der Athleten einsetzen", hieß es in einem offenen Brief der Präsidenten der fünf kontinentalen Verbände der Nationalen Olympischen Komitees. Das Schreiben wurde auch von Spyros Capralos unterzeichnet, der Präsident der europäischen NOKs ist.
