Letsch zufrieden: "Punkt sehr viel wert im Abstiegskampf"
Trainer Thomas Letsch vom VfL Bochum sieht das Remis bei Eintracht Frankfurt als wichtiges Signal im Tabellenkeller. "Dieser Punkt wird sehr viel wert sein im Abstiegskampf", sagte der 54-Jährige nach dem etwas schmeichelhaften 1:1 (1:1): "Im Abstiegskampf geht es um Punkte und nicht um eine schöne Halbzeit. Es geht ums Anschreiben. Wir haben eine gute Ausgangsposition und die wollen wir verteidigen."
Vor dem Kellerduell gegen den VfB Stuttgart in der kommenden Woche sei die Brust "sehr breit. Wir haben der Konkurrenz und auch uns selber ein klares Zeichen gegeben", so Letsch bei DAZN. Am Sonntag habe sein Team "eine gute Chance" auf einen großen Schritt im Abstiegskampf. "Aber es kann auch schnell in die andere Richtung gehen. Wir haben noch acht Spiele, die jetzige Situation ist positiv, das wollen wir halten", betonte der Trainer.
Aus den letzten drei Spielen holten die Bochumer sieben Punkte. "Wir haben momentan die Effizienz, dass wir unser Tor auch mal mit wenig machen und gleichzeitig hinten mit aller Macht unser Tor verteidigen", erklärte Letsch den Erfolgslauf. In Frankfurt habe sein Team "sicherlich einen glücklichen Punkt" geholt, führte er aus, "aber was die Leidenschaft angeht, die die Mannschaft reingelegt hat, sicher auch verdient."
