VfL-Coach Letsch hofft: "Relegation im Fernsehen anschauen"
Trainer Thomas Letsch vom VfL Bochum macht sich vor dem Abstiegsfinale in der Fußball-Bundesliga keine Gedanken über den möglichen Gegner in der Relegation. "Das können wir nicht beeinflussen", sagte der 54-Jährige dem RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland, "am liebsten wäre es mir ohnehin, wenn wir noch den direkten Klassenerhalt schaffen würden. Dann könnten wir uns die Relegation entspannt im Fernsehen anschauen."
Bochum steht vor dem Aufeinandertreffen mit Bayer Leverkusen am Samstag (15.30 Uhr/Sky) auf Relegationsplatz 16 und liegt nur einen Punkt vor Schalke 04. Es droht weiter der direkte Abstieg, aber auch die Rettung ist am letzten Spieltag noch drin.
Der Chefcoach will kühlen Kopf bewahren - ganz egal, was passiert. "Natürlich kann es ein ständiges Wechselbad der Gefühle geben", so Letsch. Man müsse aber "daran glauben, dass man die Dinge mit eigener Kraft in die richtige Bahn lenken kann. Vor allem für mich als Trainer bedeutet das, völlig emotionslos an die Sache heranzugehen."
