Osnabrück entreißt Wiesbaden direkten Zweitliga-Aufstieg
Der VfL Osnabrück ist mit einem Doppelschlag in der Nachspielzeit in die 2. Fußball-Bundesliga aufgestiegen. Die Niedersachsen gewannen gegen Borussia Dortmund II 2:1 (0:0) und entrissen dem SV Wehen Wiesbaden noch den sicher geglaubten direkten Aufstieg. Die Hessen hatten nach dem 1:0 (1:0) gegen den Halleschen FC bereits auf dem Platz mit den Fans gefeiert, müssen nun aber in die Relegation.
Den Meistertitel sicherte sich der SV Elversberg durch ein 2:1 (2:1) über Viktoria Köln. Den Durchmarsch hatte das Überraschungsteam der 3. Liga zuvor geschafft. Zweiter wurde der SC Freiburg II, die Breisgauer dürfen als zweite Mannschaft allerdings nicht aufsteigen.
Für Osnabrück drehten Ba-Muaka Simakala (90.+4) und Jannes Wulff (90.+6) die Partie und sorgten für den siebten Aufstieg des VfL in die eingleisige 2. Bundesliga.
