Voss-Tecklenburg: Wolfsburg gegen Barca in "cooler Position"
Bundestrainerin Martina Voss-Tecklenburg traut den Fußballerinnen des VfL Wolfsburg den Champions-League-Coup gegen den FC Barcelona zu. "Ich sehe Wolfsburgs Chancen im Finale bei 50:50, auch wenn Barcelona als Favorit gilt. Aber das ist eher eine coole Ausgangsposition für den Gegner, weil du etwas zu gewinnen hast", sagte Voss-Tecklenburg dem SID vor dem Endspiel am Samstag (16.00 Uhr/ZDF und DAZN) in Eindhoven.
Laut Voss-Tecklenburg machen Ergebnisse der Vergangenheit Mut. "Bayern hat es gezeigt, wie Barcelona zu besiegen ist. Wolfsburg hat die Erfahrung auch schon gemacht", sagte die 55-Jährige. Meister München hatte gegen Barca in der Gruppenphase einen 3:1-Heimsieg gefeiert, Wolfsburg gewann das Halbfinal-Rückspiel des Vorjahres 2:0 (Hinspiel 1:5).
Auch Almuth Schult erinnert sich gut an die beiden jüngsten Duelle zwischen den beiden Klubs. "Letztes Jahr haben wir im Halbfinale gezeigt, dass wir sowohl gegen Barcelona untergehen, als auch das Rückspiel gewinnen konnten", sagte die schwangere Nationaltorhüterin, die "ein Spiel auf Weltklasseniveau" erwartet.
Barcelonas Starensemble um Weltfußballerin Alexia Putellas sei "vermutlich aktuell die weltbeste Mannschaft, aber Wolfsburg kann ihnen an einem guten Tag Paroli bieten. Mich aber festlegen, wer gewinnt, ist sehr schwer", äußerte die 32-Jährige.
Barca, Titelträger von 2021, steht zum dritten Mal in Folge im Endspiel um den Henkelpokal. Wolfsburg schaffte es nach den Triumphen 2013 und 2014 zum sechsten Mal ins Finale, 2016, 2018 und 2020 scheiterte der VfL dort jeweils am Rekordsieger Olympique Lyon.
