RB-Sportchef Eberl dementiert Bayern-Gerüchte
Sportchef Max Eberl vom Fußball-Bundesligisten RB Leipzig hat Gespräche mit dem FC Bayern dementiert. "Ich bin mittlerweile an den Punkt gekommen, dass ich nur noch mit Fakten arbeite. Fakt ist: Ich habe einen Vertrag in Leipzig. Fakt ist: Es gab kein Treffen mit Bayern München. Dass ich mit Uli Hoeneß immer mal wieder Kontakt habe, ist bekannt. Aber wir haben nie über diese Thematik gesprochen. Fakt ist auch, dass wir gerade sehr intensiv am RB-Kader für die neue Saison bauen", sagte Eberl im SID-Interview.
Die Bayern hatten am Samstag nach dem Gewinn der Meisterschaft die Trennung von Vorstandschef Oliver Kahn und Sportvorstand Hasan Salihamidzic verkündet. Während Jan-Christian Dreesen unmittelbar als Kahn-Nachfolger bestätigt wurde, ist der Posten des Sportchefs weiter unbesetzt. Eberl, einst als Spieler in München aktiv, wurde schnell als Kandidat gehandelt. Red-Bull-Chef Oliver Mintzlaff hatte jüngst bereits in der Sport Bild dementiert.
"Es ist ein spannendes Thema. Generell werden Gerüchte im Fußball ohne Grundlage von Fakten unfassbar groß aufgeblasen. Dass ich einen Bezug zu Bayern München habe, es ist meine fußballerische Wiege, ist bekannt. Ebenso habe ich eine Verbindung zu der Stadt und auch zu Uli Hoeneß. Schon deshalb wird mein Name schnell mit den Bayern in Verbindung gebracht", sagte Eberl vor dem DFB-Pokal-Finale am Samstag (20.00 Uhr/ZDF und Sky) gegen Eintracht Frankfurt.
Eberl hatte sein Amt im Dezember des Vorjahres angetreten, nachdem er im Januar 2022 Borussia Mönchengladbach verlassen hatte.
