Auch Spaniens Frauen-Coach Vilda kritisiert Rubiales
Auch der umstrittene spanische Frauenfußball-Nationaltrainer Jorge Vilda hat sich von seinem Verbandschef Luis Rubiales distanziert. In einem Statement am Samstagabend verurteilte der Weltmeistercoach dessen Verhalten als inakzeptabel.
"Ich bedauere zutiefst, dass der Erfolg des spanischen Frauenfußballs durch das unangemessene Verhalten unseres Präsidenten Luis Rubiales, das er selbst zugegeben hat, beeinträchtigt wurde", hieß es in Vildas Mitteilung, die in spanischen Medien veröffentlicht wurde.
Zuvor hatte der Großteil von Vildas Trainerstab seinen Rücktritt eingereicht, die Weltmeisterinnen befinden sich im Streik. Auch der Coach der spanischen Männer-Nationalmannschaft, Luis de la Fuente, hatte das Verhalten von Verbandschef Rubiales am Samstag als "falsch" kritisiert. Beide Trainer hatten bei der außerordentlichen Generalversammlung des Verbandes am Vortag noch während Rubiales' Wutrede applaudiert.
Der Präsident hatte mit seinem Kuss auf den Mund von Weltmeisterin Jennifer Hermoso nach dem 1:0-WM-Endspielsieg gegen Europameister England vor Wochenfrist weltweite Empörung ausgelöst. Trotzdem verweigerte Rubiales am Freitag seinen Rücktritt, der Weltverband FIFA sperrte ihn allerdings am Samstag für 90 Tage.
"Ich verurteilte das falsche und unangemessene Verhalten des Präsidenten des Verbandes", sagte de la Fuente in einer Erklärung, die von der staatlichen Nachrichtenagentur EFE verbreitet wurde.
Elf Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter waren am Samstag aus den Funktionsteams der weiblichen Nationalmannschaften zurückgetreten, unter anderem Vildas Assistenten. Der Staff wollte damit seinen Protest gegen Rubiales zum Ausdruck bringen, hieß es.
