Unions Volland für drei Spiele gesperrt
Harte Strafe für Kevin Volland: Der Stürmer von Bundesligist Union Berlin ist nach seiner Roten Karte in der Partie gegen RB Leipzig (0:3) vom Sportgericht des Deutschen Fußball-Bundes (DFB) für drei Ligaspiele gesperrt worden. Der Angreifer muss wegen "rohen Spiels" zudem eine Geldstrafe in Höhe von 15.000 Euro zahlen. Volland steht den Köpenickern in der Liga damit erst im Oktober wieder zur Verfügung.
Volland hatte Innenverteidiger Mohamed Simakan gefoult und den Franzosen mit offener Sohle über dem Knöchel getroffen. Der aus Monaco im Sommer nach Berlin gewechselte Ex-Nationalspieler wurde daraufhin in seinem erst dritten Spiel für die Eisernen des Feldes verwiesen.
