Ruder-WM: Doppelvierer der Männer löst Olympia-Ticket
Der Doppelvierer der Männer hat bei der Ruder-WM in Belgrad mit dem Einzug ins Finale als erstes deutsches Boot das Olympia-Ticket gelöst. Anton Finger, Max Appel, Tim Ole Naske und Moritz Wolff zogen im Halbfinale auf den letzten Metern noch an der Ukraine vorbei und holten den nötigen dritten Platz. Der Kampf um die Medaillen steht am Samstag an.
"Ich kann das Gefühl im Moment wirklich nicht beschreiben. Es war eine Teamleistung. Ich liebe die Jungs einfach, ich liebe sie wirklich, wirklich", sagte Naske, der bei der WM 2017 noch im Einer das Finale erreicht hatte: "Nächstes Jahr nach Paris zu fahren, ist mehr als ein wahr gewordener Traum."
Der Doppelvierer der Frauen verpasste dagegen ebenso wie der Vierer ohne Steuerfrau das Finale. Beide Boote brauchen im Kampf um Paris 2024 nun einen Sieg im B-Lauf, um nicht auf die knifflige Nachqualifikation im Mai 2024 hoffen zu müssen.
Einen schwarzen Tag erwischte der leichte Männer-Doppelzweier: Paul Leerkamp und Jonathan Rommelmann kamen im Halbfinale bei der 1000-m-Marke aus dem Gleichgewicht und fielen ins Wasser. Beide kletterten mit einiger Mühe zurück ins Boot, kamen aber erst mehr als drei Minuten nach der Konkurrenz ins Ziel. Bis zu dem Fauxpas lag das Duo auf Rang vier, Platz drei hätte den Einzug ins Finale bedeutet. Nun muss für das Olympia-Ticket ein Sieg im B-Finale her.
Am Freitag sind sowohl Titelverteidiger Oliver Zeidler als auch der Deutschland-Achter im Einsatz. Einer-Weltmeister Zeidler muss im Halbfinale (9.55) Dritter werden, um den Endlauf zu erreichen. Der Achter tritt anschließend im Hoffnungslauf an (11.15), dort ist Rang zwei für den Finaleinzug gefordert.
