Heftiger Unfall von Schumacher - Team gibt erste Entwarnung
Ein heftiger Unfall von Mick Schumacher hat am Samstag das Qualifying der Formel 1 in Saudi-Arabien überschattet und für bange Minuten gesorgt. Der Haas-Pilot krachte auf dem sehr schnellen Stadtkurs mit weit mehr als 200 km/h in die Streckenbegrenzung, die Session wurde sofort unterbrochen. Das Medical-Car und der Krankenwagen stoppten an der Unfallstelle, die von den Kameras nun aber gemieden wurde.
Mehr als eine halbe Stunde nach dem Crash gab sein Teamchef Günther Steiner am Sky-Mikrofon erste Entwarnung: "Mick ist bei vollem Bewusstsein, er hat mit seiner Mutter gesprochen. Er hat keine äußerlichen Verletzungen. Jetzt macht er einen Sicherheitscheck im Krankenhaus. Mick geht es gut, das ist das Wichtigste."
Der Automobil-Weltverband FIA teilte bezüglich des 23-jährigen Schumacher mit: "Die Untersuchung im Medical Centre ergab keine Verletzungen, und er wurde vorsorglich ins King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital in Dschidda verlegt."
Das völlig zerstörte Auto wurde aufwändig geborgen, die Strecke musste ausgiebig gereinigt werden, bevor das Qualifying fortgesetzt werden konnte. Schumacher hatte den zweiten Abschnitt der Session erreicht und war auch in diesem bis zu dem Unfall vielversprechend unterwegs.
