Neun Monate nach EM-Drama: Eriksen feiert Comeback mit Tor
287 Tage nach seinem Herzstillstand bei der Fußball-EM hat Christian Eriksen ein märchenhaftes Comeback in der dänischen Nationalmannschaft gefeiert. Keine zwei Minuten nach seiner Einwechslung traf der 30-Jährige beim 2:4 (1:3) in Amsterdam gegen die Niederlande mit einem Schuss in den Winkel (47.).
Zum Sieg reichte es aber nicht, weil Stefan Bergwijn (16./71.), Nathan Ake (29.) und Memphis Depay (37., Foulelfmeter) im ersten WM-Test für Oranje erfolgreich waren. Das zwischenzeitliche 1:1 erzielte der ehemalige Bundesliga-Profi Jannik Vestergaard (20.). Außerdem setzte Eriksen den Ball an den Pfosten (74.).
Erst Mitte Februar hatte Eriksen, dem ein Defibrillator eingesetzt worden war, beim FC Brentford sein Premier-League-Comeback gegeben. Gesundheitliche Bedenken hat er nicht mehr. "Natürlich würde ich nicht zurückkehren, wenn ich nicht wüsste, dass ich in der Lage bin, zurückzukommen, ohne dass mir etwas Schlimmes zustößt", hatte Eriksen gesagt: "Alles ist in Ordnung, um wieder spielen zu können." Wegen einer Corona-Infektion und Quarantäne in England war er mit Verspätung zum Team des EM-Halbfinalisten gestoßen.
Eriksen war am 12. Juni im ersten EM-Gruppenspiel der Dänen in Kopenhagen gegen Finnland zusammengebrochen und musste reanimiert werden. Er entkam nur knapp dem Tod.
