Eishockey-Superstar Alexander Owetschkin hat in der NHL zum 19. Mal in Folge die 20-Tore-Marke erreicht. Der Russe traf beim 5:2 seiner Washington Capitals gegen die Calgary Flames doppelt.
Der 38-Jährige ist erst der sechste Spieler in der Geschichte der nordamerikanischen Profiliga, dem dieses Kunststück gelang. Rekordhalter Gordie Howe hatte die Marke sogar in 22 Spielzeiten geknackt. Mit insgesamt 843 Toren hat Owetschkin zudem weiter den Ligarekord von Superstar Wayne Gretzky (894) im Blick.
Vizeweltmeister John-Jason Peterka gewann derweil das deutsche Duell mit Goalie Philipp Grubauer klar und wahrte die kleine Chance auf die Play-offs. Beim 6:2 der Buffalo Sabres gegen die Seattle Kraken lieferte Peterka die Vorlage zum 4:2, es war sein 20. Assist der Saison.
