München heißt Ukraine bei EM willkommen: "Tolle Leistung"
Münchens Oberbürgermeister Dieter Reiter freut sich nach der geglückten EM-Qualifikation der Ukraine auf das Gastspiel der Mannschaft in seiner Stadt. "Ich hoffe sehr, dass dieser großartige Erfolg der Ukraine und unserer Partnerstadt Kiew Kraft gibt", sagte Reiter (SPD) auf SID-Anfrage. Er freue sich "ganz besonders, dass die Mannschaft ihr erstes EM-Spiel bei uns in München bestreiten wird."
Die Ukraine hatte am Dienstag das Play-off-Finale gegen Island mit 2:1 gewonnen. "Ich gratuliere ganz herzlich zur Qualifikation für die Euro 2024. Was für eine tolle Leistung des ukrainischen Teams, dessen Land seit über zwei Jahren unter dem brutalen russischen Angriffskrieg zu leiden hat", sagte Reiter.
Die Ukraine trifft am 17. Juni in der Allianz Arena auf Rumänien. Nach Angaben der Stadt leben aktuell rund 24.000 Ukrainerinnen und Ukrainer in München, davon 17.000 Geflüchtete. Die weiteren EM-Gegner sind die Slowakei (21. Juni in Düsseldorf) und Belgien (26. Juni in Stuttgart).
