Premier League: Littler feiert ersten Tagessieg
Darts-Wunderkind Luke Littler hat in der prestigeträchtigen Premier League seinen ersten Tagessieg gefeiert. Der 17 Jahre alte Engländer setzte sich am Donnerstagabend im nordirischen Belfast im Finale mit 6:4 gegen seinen Landsmann Nathan Aspinall durch. Zuvor hatte er bereits Weltmeister Luke Humphries (6:5) und den niederländischen Titelverteidiger Michael van Gerwen (6:3) ausgeschaltet.
WM-Finalist Littler setzte damit sein überragendes Jahr 2024 nahtlos fort. Vor seinem Sieg in der Premier League hatte er in den vergangenen Monaten bereits das Bahrain Darts Masters, die Belgian Darts Open sowie ein Players Championship Event für sich entschieden.
Nächste Woche Donnerstag macht die Premier League in Manchester Station. Insgesamt stehen 16 Spieltage an, an deren Ende die vier besten Spieler in London den Sieger ermitteln. Für den Titel gibt es 275.000 Pfund (rund 320.000 Euro).
