Ex-Nationaltorhüterin Schult wagt Comeback beim HSV
Almuth Schult will es noch einmal wissen. Die frühere Torhüterin der deutschen Nationalmannschaft wagt beim Hamburger SV in der 2. Fußball-Bundesliga ein Comeback.
Die 33-Jährige kehrt mit sofortiger Wirkung an die Elbe zurück, vorerst bis zum Saisonende. Der Wechsel ist durch einen Passus in den Statuten möglich, der Müttern nach der Geburt die Rückkehr auch außerhalb der ansonsten geltenden Transferfristen ermöglicht. Schult bekam im August 2023 ihr drittes Kind.
"Hamburg war für mich schon immer eine besondere Stadt, und ich durfte beim HSV meine ersten Schritte im Erwachsenen-Fußball machen, von daher gab es schon immer eine besondere Verbindung", sagte Schult: "Ich spüre, welche ernsthaften Ambitionen der HSV hat, und freue mich, wieder ein Teil davon zu sein."
Schult, die auch seit Jahren als TV-Expertin präsent ist, spielte von 2007 bis 2008 schon einmal für den HSV, ehe sie durchstartete. Sie blickt in ihrer Karriere zurück auf bislang 180 Bundesliga-Spiele, 53 Partien in der Champions League und 66 Spiele für das deutsche A-Nationalteam, mit dem sie 2013 Europameister wurde und drei Jahre später in Rio Olympia-Gold gewann.
Zuletzt hatte Schult 2022 beim Angel City FC unter Vertrag gestanden. Der HSV liegt auf dem vierten Platz der 2. Liga.
