Deutsche "Neuauflage in Wembley wäre schon toll"
Bayern Münchens Klubchef Jan-Christian Dreesen hofft mehr denn je auf ein zweites "German Endspiel" in der Champions League. "Dortmund ist verdient ins Halbfinale gekommen", sagte er nach dem 1:0 (0:0) des deutschen Rekordmeisters gegen den FC Arsenal, und wenn "man ein bisschen ins Träumen gerät", wäre eine "deutsche Neuauflage in Wembley schon toll".
Mit dem Einzug des FC Bayern ins Halbfinale, wo die Münchner auf Real Madrid treffen, habe er angesichts der Leistungen in der Bundesliga "nicht gerechnet", gab Dreesen zu. "Aber ich habe gehofft", sagte er. Dass er zudem bereits nach dem 2:2 im Hinspiel in London den "Traum von Wembley" formuliert habe, sei "aus tiefstem Herzen" gekommen.
Im englischen Fußball-Tempel hatte der deutsche Rekordmeister den BVB 2013 mit 2:1 niedergerungen. Das Siegtor in einem packenden Finale erzielte Arjen Robben kurz vor dem Schlusspfiff.
"Im Halbfinale stehen zwei Bundesligisten, das ist großartig für die Bundesliga, ein Ausrufezeichen", sagte der Münchner Sportvorstand Max Eberl: "Und wir wollen beide noch mehr!"
