Medien: Skispringer Kobayashi fliegt auf 291 Meter
Die Weitenjagd im Skispringen nimmt groteske Formen an: Der Japaner Ryoyu Kobayashi ist auf einer provisorischen Schanze in Island angeblich auf unglaubliche 291 Meter und damit fast 40 Meter über den Weltrekord geflogen. Nach Angaben des öffentlich-rechtlichen Senders RUV hatte ein Sponsor (Red Bull) im Skigebiet Hlidarfjall einen "Monsterbakken" mit enorm langem Anlauf in einen Hang gebaut. Der 27-Jährige soll dort zwei Tage lang geflogen sein, nur TV-Teams hatten Zugang.
Auf einem am Mittwoch veröffentlichten Video ist zu sehen, wie Kobayashi nach einem Flug ein Schild mit der Aufschrift "291 m, Weltrekord" in die Luft hält. Allerdings war das Video mehrfach geschnitten. Ob es authentisch ist, blieb zunächst unklar. Bei X schrieb der dreimalige Gewinner der Vierschanzentournee am Mittwoch nur: "Meine Saison ist endlich beendet."
Der bisherige Weltrekord des Österreichers Stefan Kraft liegt bei 253,5 m, aufgestellt 2017 im norwegischen Vikersund. In der Vergangenheit hatte es immer wieder Pläne gegeben, temporäre Schanzen für 300-m-Flüge zu bauen, die aber stets verworfen wurden. Die 300 m waren offenbar auch auf Island das Ziel, wurden aber verfehlt. Der Ski-Weltverband FIS erkennt keine Weltrekorde im Skifliegen an.
