Ruder-EM: Zeidler zieht souverän ins Finale ein
Ruder-Weltmeister Oliver Zeidler ist bei den Europameisterschaften im ungarischen Szeged problemlos ins Finale eingezogen. Der 27-Jährige gewann sein Halbfinale vor Olympiasieger Stefanos Ntouskos (Griechenland) und greift damit am Sonntag (14.10 Uhr) nach seinem dritten EM-Titel. Schon den Vorlauf hatte der Gold-Favorit souverän gewonnen. Zeidler folgte Alexandra Föster ins Einer-Finale, die 22-Jährige rudert am Sonntag um 13.54 Uhr um eine Medaille.
Ebenfalls den Einzug ins Finale (Sonntag, 13.39 Uhr) schafften Jonas Gelsen und Marc Weber, die bereits für die Olympischen Spiele in Paris qualifiziert sind, im Doppelzweier. Im Halbfinale schieden dagegen Marc Kammann und Mark Hinrichs im Zweier ohne Steuermann aus.
Die EM dient dem jungen und verkleinertem Team vor allem als Zwischenstation, insbesondere den Booten, die bei der Nachqualifikation in Luzern (19. bis 21. Mai) noch ihr Paris-Ticket lösen wollen. Sechs Boote sind bislang für Olympia qualifiziert, in der Schweiz sollen zwei weitere die Teilnahme sichern.
