Comeback nach Baby-Pause: Krause knackt Paris-Norm
Gesa Felicitas Krause (31) hat im ersten Hindernisrennen nach ihrer Baby-Pause die Norm für die Olympischen Spiele in Paris geknackt. Auf der zweiten Station der Diamond League im chinesischen Suzhou kam die zweimalige WM-Dritte nach 3000 m in 9:16,24 Minuten auf Platz drei. Damit blieb sie auch unter der geforderten Zeit für die EM in Rom.
Geschlagen geben musste sie sich nur Weltrekordlerin Beatrice Chepkoech (Kenia) und Olympiasiegerin Peruth Chemutai (Uganda). Die Norm für Paris (6. August) lag bei 9:23,00 Minuten, für Rom (7. bis 12. Juni) bei 9:37,00.
"Als Dritte ins Ziel zu kommen, hat mich selbst überrascht", sagte Krause bei Sky: "Das Ziel war die Olympia-Norm, aber heute ist mir sehr viel gelungen, da fällt mir auch ein Stein vom Herzen. Das war der wichtigste Schritt Richtung Rom und Paris."
Krause hatte ihr bis dato letztes Rennen über die 3000 m Hindernis bei der WM 2022 in Eugene bestritten. Vor einem Jahr brachte sie ihre Tochter Lola zur Welt. Zuletzt quälte sich Krause im Trainingslager in Südafrika für Olympia. Das Ziel ist das Finale der Top Acht, der Traum eine Medaille. "In Paris will ich in der besten Form sein, die ich erreichen kann. Der Grundstein dafür ist gelegt, ich kann auf diese sehr gute Form aufbauen."
Schon vor Suzhou hatten Kugelstoßerin Yemisi Ogunleye (Mannheim), Diskuswerferin Claudine Vita (Neubrandenburg) und Hochspringer Tobias Potye (München) die Normen für Paris erfüllt. In China enttäuschte das Trio allerdings. Ogunleye, Vize-Weltmeisterin in der Halle, wurde im Zehnerfeld mit 18,52 m Vorletzte. Vize-Europameisterin Vita kam mit 61,26 m auf Platz sieben. Potye, der auch EM-Silber gewonnen hatte, kam nicht über 2,12 m hinaus.
