In der Nähe von Peking: Weitere chinesische Großstadt teilweise im Lockdown
Eine Woche vor dem Start der Olympischen Winterspiele ist eine weitere chinesische Großstadt in der Nähe von Peking teilweise in den Lockdown gegangen. Etwa 1,2 Millionen Menschen aus der südlich der Hauptstadt gelegenen neuen Zone Xiong'an dürfen ihre Wohngebiete vorerst weder betreten noch verlassen. Das bestätigte ein Gesundheitsbeamter am Freitag der Nachrichtenagentur AFP.
Einschränkungen durch die Corona-Pandemie werden in China öffentlich angekündigt. In diesem Fall scheinen diese jedoch heimlich eingeführt worden zu sein, berichtet AFP. Der Lockdown wurde bereits am Dienstag verhängt, am selben Tag waren in einem der drei Kreise der Zone fünf neue positive Fälle gemeldet worden. Die Maßnahme soll etwa eine Woche gelten.
Die Wirtschaftszone Xiong'an, die etwa 100 km von Peking entfernt liegt, ist das Vorzeigeprojekt von Präsident Xi Jinping und wird derzeit noch ausgebaut. Sie soll ein Modell für Stadtentwicklung und eine "grüne Stadt" sein.
China wird die Olympischen Spiele (4. bis 20. Februar) in einem "geschlossenen Kreislauf" ausrichten, der sicherstellen soll, dass weder die rund 3000 Sportlerinnen und Sportler noch andere Teilnehmer mit der Öffentlichkeit in Kontakt kommen.
In den vergangenen Wochen kam es trotz massiver Maßnahmen immer wieder zu sporadischen Ausbrüchen des Coronavirus im Land. China setzt mit strikten Einschränkungen auf eine Null-COVID-Politik, bereits mehrmals wurden nach Ausbrüchen zuletzt ganze Millionenstädte abgeriegelt.
