America's Schauffele wins British Open
America's Xander Schauffele won the British Open at Royal Troon on Sunday to secure his second major championship, two months after claiming his first.
The 30-year-old Californian delivered a faultless final round of 65 on Scotland's west coast to emerge from a congested leaderboard and grab the Claret Jug.
Schauffele, winner of the PGA Championship in May, finished on nine-under par, two shots ahead of England's Justin Rose and America's Billy Horschel.
He had started the last round tied for second with five other players, a shot behind overnight leader Horschel.
But it was Schauffele who grabbed all the opportunities that came his way, picking up six birdies to go with 12 pars.
