Berliner Tageblatt - African players in Europe: Sarr helps sink leaders Liverpool

Senegalese Sarr struck the first Crystal Palace goal in a dramatic 2-1 home victory over Liverpool, which raised his overall total to three.

Ghanaian Semenyo claimed his fourth league goal for Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw against Leeds at Elland Road.

ENGLAND

ISMAILA SARR (Crystal Palace)

Sarr scored the opening goal in Crystal Palace's impressive victory against champions and Premier League leaders Liverpool. The 27-year-old, returning from an injury absence, poked home from close range after an in-swinging corner deflected into his path and gave Oliver Glasner's men an extra attacking dimension as the visitors suffered their first defeat of the season.

ANTOINE SEMENYO (Bournemouth)

Semenyo, 25, kept up his impressive early-season form, scoring a free-kick to give Bournemouth the lead at Leeds. The home side scored twice in reply but Eli Kroupi's stoppage-time equaliser rescued a point for Bournemouth.

SPAIN

AKOR ADAMS (Sevilla)

The Nigerian striker snatched Sevilla a late 1-0 La Liga win on the road at Rayo Vallecano, producing their only shot on target in the game. Adams, on as a substitute, slammed home off the crossbar after being fed by Jose Angel Carmona. It was the 25-year-old's first goal for the club he joined in January.

GERMANY

FARES CHAIBI (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Algeria international Chaibi laid on two assists and picked up a goal of his own in Eintracht's stunning 6-4 win at Borussia Moenchengladbach. With 11 minutes gone, Chaibi whipped in a dangerous cross which was duly dispatched by Robin Koch for the opener. Unmarked Chaibi scored Frankfurt's fourth on the 39-minute mark. Just before half-time, Chaibi then played a clever one-two with Can Uzun, which allowed the latter to score.

EDMOND TAPSOBA (Bayer Leverkusen)

Leverkusen centre-back Tapsoba put his side in front with a lovely dink in a 2-1 win at St Pauli. With 25 minutes gone, Alex Grimaldo lofted a free-kick goalwards and the Burkina Faso international was on the spot to slot home a rebound. The goal was Tapsoba's first in Leverkusen colours since January 2023.

FRANCE

JEAN-PHILIPPE KRASSO (Paris FC)

The 28-year-old Ivorian forward kept his composure to level for Paris FC from the spot in the 88th minute at Nice as the sides drew one-apiece.
