Zeidler zieht souverän ins Finale ein - auch Föster weiter
Weltmeister Oliver Zeidler rudert am Sonntag um die EM-Medaillen im Einer. Der Titelverteidiger gewann nach dem Vorlauf auf der Regattastrecke in Oberschleißheim auch das Halbfinale am Samstagvormittag souverän und geht als Top-Favorit ins Finale. Zeidler (26) lieferte sich ein Duell mit dem Niederländer Melvin Twellaar, setzte sich nach der Hälfte des Rennens an die Spitze und gab die Führung nicht mehr ab.
Bei den Frauen kam Alexandra Föster als Zweite ins Ziel und damit wie Zeidler ins Finale. Die 20-Jährige aus Meschede musste sich nur der Top-Favoritin Karolien Florijn aus den Niederlanden geschlagen geben.
Zeidler möchte in München in die "goldenen" Fußstapfen seines Großvaters Johannes Färber treten. Dieser hatte bei den Olympischen Spielen 1972 auf der selben Regattastrecke mit dem sogenannten deutschen "Bullenvierer" triumphiert.
