Neuer IPCC-Bericht zu gravierenden Folgen des Klimawandels wird vorgestellt
Der Weltklimarat IPCC stellt am Montag (Pk. 12.00 Uhr) den zweiten Teil seines sechsten Sachstandsberichts vor, der sich mit den gravierenden Folgen des Klimawandels für Mensch und Natur befasst. Demnach sind die Folgen der Erderwärmung wie zunehmende Wetterextreme, Ernterückgänge und Artensterben bereits deutlich zu spüren und werden sich noch drastisch verschärfen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk legt der Bericht auf dringend notwendige Anpassungsmaßnahmen.
In den vergangenen zwei Wochen hatten die 195 IPCC-Mitgliedstaaten die Zusammenfassung des knapp 4000 Seiten starken Berichts für politische Entscheidungsträger verabschiedet. Die Beratungen waren vom Ukraine-Konflikt überschattet. Der Berichtsteil wurde von der Arbeitsgruppe II des IPCC erstellt, zum Kernteam gehörten 270 Wissenschaftler aus 67 Ländern, davon 15 aus Deutschland. Bundesforschungsministerin Bettina Stark-Watzinger (FDP) und Außen-Staatsministerin Anna Lührmann (Grüne) treten am Nachmittag mit dem Ko-Vorsitzenden der IPCC-Arbeitsgruppe II, Hans-Otto Pörtner, vor die Presse (15.00 Uhr).
