Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung erreichten 2022 neuen Höchststand
Die Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung in Deutschland haben im Jahr 2022 ihren langjährigen Aufwärtstrend fortgesetzt und einen neuen Höchststand erreicht. Sie stiegen im Vergleich zum Vorjahr 2021 um sieben Prozent auf 121,4 Milliarden Euro, wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Freitag unter Verweis auf vorläufige Daten mitteilte. Darin sind alle Forschungs- und Entwicklungsausgaben von Unternehmen, Hochschulen und sonstigen Forschungsinstitutionen enthalten.
Der Anteil der entsprechenden Ausgaben am deutschen Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) lag 2022 nach vorläufigen Berechnungen wie bereits in den Vorjahren 2020 und 2021 bei 3,1 Prozent. Damit übertraf die Bundesrepublik nach Angaben der Statistiker bereits im sechsten Jahr in Folge das in der EU-Wachstumsstrategie "Europa 2020" festgelegte Ziel, mindestens drei Prozent des Bruttoinlandsprodukts für Forschung und Entwicklung aufzuwenden.
Mehr als Zweidrittel der Gesamtausgaben entfielen 2022 auf die Wirtschaft, wie das Bundesamt berichtete. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr steigerten diese ihre Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung um acht Prozent auf etwa 81,8 Milliarden Euro. Die Ausgaben der Hochschulen stiegen um sieben Prozent auf 22,0 Milliarden Euro. Außeruniversitäre Einrichtungen für Forschung und Entwicklung wendeten 17,6 Milliarden Euro auf. Das waren fünf Prozent mehr.
Wie das Bundesamt in Wiesbaden weiter mitteilte, steigen die Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung in Deutschland seit längerem kontinuierlich an. Unterbrochen wurde der Trend demnach nur im ersten Corona-Jahr 2020, als die Ausgaben gegenüber dem Vorjahr 2019 um etwa drei Prozent zurückgingen.
