Habeck: Weltgemeinschaft bewegt sich beim Klimaschutz nicht schnell genug
Wirtschaft- und Klimaschutzminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) hat vor der Weltklimakonferenz ein entschlossenes Handeln vor allem der Industriestaaten angemahnt. Die Welt habe ein weiteres "Katastrophenjahr" mit galoppierender Erderwärmung erlebt, sagte Habeck in einem am Samstag auf Twitter veröffentlichten Video. Doch die Weltgemeinschaft bewege "sich nicht schnell genug in Richtung Klimaneutralität".
Die am Sonntag in Ägypten beginnende Klimakonferenz müsse "Ergebnisse bringen", sagte Habeck. Hierbei müssten Deutschland und andere Industrieländer mit wirksamen Möglichkeiten zur Bekämpfung des Klimawandels eine "Vorreiterrolle" übernehmen.
Deutschland stehe zwar "nur" für ungefähr zwei Prozent der weltweiten Emissionen, sagte Habeck. Aber "gerade, weil Deutschland alle Möglichkeiten hat, sind sehr viele Augen auf Deutschland gerichtet. Wenn wir es nicht hinbekommen (...), mit allen unseren finanziellen und technischen Möglichkeiten (...), dann werden die anderen 98 Prozent ebenfalls sich nicht daran beteiligen".
