Ein Bär auf dem Mars?
Mit einer ganz besonderen Aufnahme vom Mars hat die US-Raumfahrtbehörde Nasa überrascht: Sie veröffentlichte ein Foto von einer geologischen Formation auf der Oberfläche des Roten Planeten, welche an ein lächelndes "Bärengesicht" erinnert. Die Aufnahme war der US-Raumfahrtbehörde zufolge im vergangenen Monat von der Nasa-Raumsonde Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter mit Hilfe ihrer hochauflösenden HiRISE-Kamera gemacht worden.
"Ein Bär auf dem Mars?", fragte das HiRISE-Team scherzhaft auf Twitter - und klärte auch gleich auf: Es handele sich um eine geologische Formation, die unter anderem von zwei Kratern für die "Augen" sowie einem Hügel für die "Schnauze" gebildet werde. Insgesamt erstrecke sich die Formation auf rund zwei Kilometer.
