Spanischer Modeschöpfer Paco Rabanne mit 88 Jahren gestorben
Der spanische Modeschöpfer Paco Rabanne ist im Alter von 88 Jahren in Frankreich gestorben. Der für seine extravaganten Entwürfe und Parfums bekannte Designer sei am Freitag gestorben, bestätigte der Mutterkonzern seiner Marke der Nachrichtenagentur AFP. "Er hat Generationen geprägt mit seiner radikalen Vision von Mode", hieß es in der Mitteilung.
Rabanne war 1934 im spanischen Baskenland auf die Welt gekommen. Seine Mutter, eine Schneiderin bei Balenciaga, floh mit ihm 1939 nach Frankreich.
Der Modeschöpfer hatte einen Hang zu futuristischen Entwürfen. Mitte der 60er wurde er mit einer Kollektion namens "Zwölf untragbare Kleidungsstücke" bekannt, die teils aus Metallstücken mit scharfen Kanten bestanden. Seine Kleider wurden unter anderem von Brigitte Bardot und Jane Fonda getragen.
