Mehr als ein Drittel der Deutschen ist einer Umfrage zufolge mindestens einmal tätowiert. In der Altersgruppe zwischen 18 und 45 Jahren sind es mit 44 Prozent besonders viele, wie das Magazin "Playboy" am Dienstag berichtete. Obwohl 42 Prozent der Befragten ab 45 Jahren Tattoos auf reiferer Haut nicht schön finden, stehen 89 Prozent der Tätowierten auch später zu ihrem Körperschmuck.
Ein Tattoo zu bereuen, ist eher ein Phänomen bei den Jüngeren. 22 Prozent der 31- bis 45-Jährigen würden mindestens eines ihrer Tattoos ungeschehen machen. Ältere bereuen ein Tattoo nur noch zu elf Prozent. Häufigster Grund für ein Tattoo ist für 62 Prozent, dass die Betroffenen das Motiv "einfach schön finden". Für 57 Prozent hat es eine "tiefere Bedeutung", für 30 Prozent unterstreicht es die Persönlichkeit.
Die beliebtesten Körperstellen für ein Tattoo sind mit 39 Prozent die Oberarme. Darauf folgen der Rücken mit 38 Prozent und die Unterarme mit 30 Prozent. Am wenigsten attraktiv empfanden die Befragten Tattoos mit 76 Prozent im Gesicht, gefolgt vom Intimbereich mit 46 Prozent und dem Hals mit 43 Prozent. Für die Umfrage befragte das Meinungsforschungsinstitut Norstat im Auftrag des "Playboy" tausend Menschen.
