Eine Frau soll in einem Einfamilienhaus im rheinland-pfälzischen Wissen an der Sieg hunderte Ratten gehortet haben. Die genaue Zahl lasse sich noch nicht benennen, sagte ein Sprecher des Landkreises Altenkirchen am Dienstag. Bereits in der vergangenen Woche habe das Veterinäramt bei der Frau rund 400 Tiere befreit.
Laut dem Sprecher war bereits zu diesem Zeitpunkt klar, dass ein zweiter Einsatz nötig wird, um alle Tiere abzutransportieren. Dieser fand am Dienstag statt. Die Behörden wurden dabei von privaten Tierschutzinitiativen unterstützt. Die Behörden waren nach Hinweisen von Nachbarn auf die Frau aufmerksam geworden. Laut Sprecher wurde noch geprüft, ob ein Verfahren gegen sie eingeleitet wird.
Der Landkreis geht laut Sprecher von einem Fall von sogenanntem Animalhoarding aus - also der Sucht, Tiere zu sammeln. Dabei glauben die Besitzer, die Kontrolle zu haben. Tatsächlich haben sie diese aber ganz offensichtlich bereits verloren.
