Japans Kaiser Naruhito reist zu Staatsbesuch nach Indonesien
Erstmals seit seiner Thronbesteigung reist der japanische Kaiser Naruhito zu einem Staatsbesuch ins Ausland. Begleitet von Kaiserin Masako werde Naruhito in diesem Monat zu einem Staatsbesuch nach Indonesien reisen, teilte die japanische Regierung am Freitag mit. Die Reise findet demnach vom 17. bis 23. Juni auf Einladung des indonesischen Präsidenten Joko Widodo statt.
Der Besuch des Kaiserpaares werde "die engen Beziehungen der Freundschaft und des guten Willens mit Indonesien weiter stärken", erklärte Japans Regierungschef Fumio Kishida.
Nach der Absage öffentlicher Auftritte während der Corona-Pandemie hatte das Kaiserpaar im vergangenen Jahr nach und nach wieder öffentliche Termine wahrgenommen. Seine erste Auslandsreise seit der Thronbesteigung unternahm das Kaiserpaar 2022 nach London, um an der Beerdigung von Königin Elizabeth II. teilzunehmen.
Naruhito war im Jahr 2019 feierlich inthronisiert worden. Er übernahm das Amt von seinem Vater Akihito.
