Schwedische Akademie gibt Träger des Literatur-Nobelpreises bekannt
Die Schwedische Akademie der Wissenschaften in Stockholm gibt am Donnerstag (13.00 Uhr) bekannt, wer dieses Jahr den Literatur-Nobelpreis erhält. Experten vermuten, dass die Auszeichnung dieses Jahr ein Zeichen für die Meinungsfreiheit setzen könnte. Als Favoriten werden unter anderem die russische Kreml-Kritikerin Ljudmila Ulitzkaja und der britische Autor Salman Rushdie gehandelt, der wegen einer iranischen Fatwa jahrelang an geheimen Orten lebte und vergangenes Jahr einen Messerangriff in den USA nur knapp überlebte.
Bereits seit Jahren gelten die Kanadierin Margaret Atwood, die ungarischen Autoren Peter Nadas und Laszlo Krasznahorkai und der Kenianer Ngugi wa Thiong'o als Anwärter für den renommierten Literaturpreis. Die Akademie könnte mit ihrer Auszeichnung aber auch wieder einmal einen weniger bekannten Schriftsteller wie den chinesischen Avantgarde-Autor Can Xue oder die karibische Autorin Jamaica Kincaid ins Rampenlicht rücken. Vergangenes Jahr war die Auszeichnung an die französische Schriftstellerin Annie Ernaux gegangen.
