Aitana Bonmatí, Djokovic e Bellingham recebem prêmios Laureus do esporte
A vencedora da Bola de Ouro, a espanhola Aitana Bonmatí, o tenista número 1 do mundo, Novak Djokovic e o jogador inglês do Real Madrid Jude Bellingham foram os vencedores nesta segunda-feira (22) na 25ª cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios esportivos Laureus, realizada em Madri.
O sérvio Djokovic, detentor do recorde de títulos de Grand Slam com 24 ao final de uma temporada espetacular de 2023, foi eleito o esportista do ano, à frente do campeão mundial de F1, Max Verstappen.
"Estou extremamente honrado por ter conquistado meu quinto prêmio", disse 'Nole'. "Volto a 2012, quando ganhei pela primeira vez, aos 24 anos. Estou muito orgulhoso de estar aqui doze anos depois".
Jude Bellingham, o "Golden Boy" do Real Madrid, recebeu o prêmio de melhor atleta revelação após a sua excepcional temporada de estreia no clube madrilenho com apenas 20 anos.
Entre as mulheres, a campeã mundial espanhola e Bola de Ouro de 2023 Aitana Bonmatí foi eleita a melhor atleta do ano, depois de uma temporada histórica em que a catalã conquistou todos os troféus individuais e coletivos jogando pelo Barcelona.
A seleção espanhola feminina, que venceu a Copa do Mundo e a Liga das Nações no período de seis meses, recebeu o troféu de melhor equipe do ano.
E a ginasta norte-americana Simone Biles recebeu, à distância, o troféu de melhor regresso do ano, enquanto o tenista espanhol Rafael Nadal foi premiado pela sua fundação e pelos seus projetos educativos em diferentes lugares do mundo.
