Karbon-X Named Official Sustainability Partner of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers
Multi-year partnership introduces verified environmental reporting and new fan-driven climate action across Little Caesars Arena and Comerica Park.
CALGARY, AB / ACCESS Newswire / April 1, 2026 / Karbon-X Corp. (OTCQX:KARX) ("Karbon-X" or "the Company") today announced a multi-year sustainability partnership with the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, establishing Karbon-X as the Official Sustainability Partner across both teams through Ilitch Sports + Entertainment.
The collaboration brings verified climate action to two of Detroit's most celebrated franchises, supporting long-term environmental strategy at Little Caesars Arena and Comerica Park, and introducing new ways for fans to participate in meaningful sustainability efforts.
As part of the partnership, Karbon-X will deliver independent, third-party greenhouse gas reporting for both organizations. These insights will support future planning and help identify opportunities to strengthen environmental performance across venue operations and team activities.
The partnership also introduces fan-centered pathways to contribute to verified climate action. Red Wings and Tigers fans will have access to a dedicated partnership landing page to learn about the initiative, along with an optional $3 sustainability contribution available at ticket checkout. All contributions directly support the purchase and retirement of verified carbon credits, with transparent reporting provided back to each team.
"Detroit is a city built on resilience, pride, and progress - values that align perfectly with this partnership," said Matt Kauffman, Executive Vice President of Sports and Entertainment at Karbon-X. "Working with the Red Wings and Tigers allows us to bring credible, measurable sustainability practices to moments that matter to fans, while supporting long-term environmental planning across both venues."
Through Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers are continuing to expand sustainability initiatives across their operations and fan engagement programs.
The multi-year agreement begins during the current NHL season and runs through the 2028-2029 NHL season, and includes the 2026-2028 MLB seasons. The partnership expands Karbon-X's presence across professional sports while reinforcing the shared goal of integrating verified, transparent sustainability practices across major league venues and fan experiences.
