Wegen des Staatsbegräbnisses für die verstorbene britische Königin Elizabeth II. hat Bundesinnenministerin Nancy Faeser (SPD) für Montag Trauerbeflaggung für alle Bundesbehörden in Deutschland angeordnet. Dies teilte Faesers Ministerium am Morgen im Kurzbotschaftendienst Twitter mit. Elizabeth II. war am 8. September im Alter von 96 Jahren gestorben. An der Trauerfeier in London vor ihrem Begräbnis nehmen am Montag rund 2000 Gäste teil, darunter Staatsoberhäupter und Monarchen aus aller Welt.
Deutschland wird durch Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier vertreten. Er hatte am Sonntag bei einem Empfang Buckingham-Palast dem britischen König Charles III. kondoliert. Im ZDF bezeichnete Steinmeier das Staatsbegräbnis davor als "Jahrhundertereignis".
