Fürst Albert II. von Monaco findet seine Mutter Grace Kelly in alten Filmen "hinreißend". Gemeinsam mit etwa 100 Zuschauern sah sich Albert am Dienstagabend in Nizza den Film "Über den Dächern von Nizza" an, in dem Grace Kelly an der Seite von Cary Grant eine Millionärstochter spielt. "Meine Mutter ist hinreißend in dem Film, und das ist noch untertrieben", sagte Albert.
"Es sind wunderbare Bilder von Monaco und der Côte d'Azur, und außerdem ist es eine schöne Geschichte", meinte der Fürst, nachdem er den Film gesehen hatte. Die Cinémathèque von Nizza hat zum 40. Todestag von Grace Kelly eine Retrospektive ihrer elf Filme organisiert, die die US-Schauspielerin vor ihrer Hochzeit mit Fürst Rainier III. von Monaco gedreht hatte. Nach der Hochzeit trug sie den Titel Fürstin Gracia Patricia von Monaco.
"Die Rolle, auf die sie besonders stolz war, war wohl die im Film 'Ein Mädchen vom Lande'", meinte Albert. Für diese Rolle bekam Grace Kelly 1955 einen Oscar als beste Hauptdarstellerin. Er erinnerte daran, dass seine Mutter auch nach ihrer Hochzeit noch Filmangebote bekam, unter anderem von Alfred Hitchcock. "Sie hätte sicher große Lust auf dieses Abenteuer gehabt, aber dann siegte die Vernunft", sagte Albert mit Blick auf die neue Rolle seiner Mutter als Fürstin von Monaco.
