Memorial: Nobelpreis gibt "moralische Kraft" in "deprimierenden Zeiten"
Die Auszeichnung mit dem Friedensnobelpreis gibt der russischen Menschenrechtsorganisation Memorial nach eigener Aussage "moralische Kraft" in "deprimierenden Zeiten". Der Preis sei eine Unterstützung für alle russischen Menschenrechtsaktivisten, sagte der Vorsitzende von Memorial International, Jan Ratschinski, am Donnerstag beim Verlassen eines Moskauer Gerichts, wo ein Prozess gegen die in Russland verbotene Organisation läuft.
Es sei eine "große Ehre", sich den Preis mit der ukrainischen Menschenrechtsorganisation Zentrum für bürgerliche Freiheiten (CCL) zu teilen, sagte der Memorial-Vertreter Oleg Orlow in Moskau. "Wir sind unter Druck, aber sie sind unter Beschuss. Von unserer Armee. Und sie arbeiten weiter unter diesen Bedingungen."
Die 1989 gegründete russische Organisation Memorial ist die älteste und wichtigste Menschenrechtsorganisation in Russland.
