Rund drei Jahre nach Knochenfund in Nordrhein-Westfalen Toter identifiziert
Rund drei Jahre nach einem Knochenfund in Nordrhein-Westfalen haben Ermittler die Identität des Toten geklärt. Es handelt sich um einen seit 2002 vermissten Mann, wie die Staatsanwaltschaft Paderborn und die Polizei Bielefeld am Dienstag mitteilten. Ein rechtsmedizinisches Gutachten habe nach einem DNA-Abgleich mit einem Angehörigen den Verdacht bestätigt. Zuvor habe es Hinweise aus dem Ausland gegeben.
Im August 2020 fand eine Spaziergängerin am Habichtsee in Schloß Neuhaus einen Oberschenkelknochen. Ermittlungen der Polizei Paderborn ergaben, dass es sich um menschliche Überreste handelt. Ein Abgleich in der Datei mit Vermissten und unbekannten Toten verlief zunächst negativ.
Erst der Hinweis aus dem Ausland und der DNA-Abgleich brachte dann die Gewissheit, dass es sich bei dem Toten um einen zum damaligen Zeitpunkt 52-jährigen Mann handelt. Da ein Gewaltverbrechen nicht ausgeschlossen werden kann, übernahm eine vom Polizeipräsidium Bielefeld eingerichtete Mordkommission zusammen mit der Staatsanwaltschaft Paderborn die weiteren Ermittlungen. Mit Leichenspürhunden und Polizeitauchern sollte am Dienstag das Umfeld des Knochenfundorts am Habichtsee durchsucht werden.
