Papst Franziskus wird Krankenhaus "in den kommenden Tagen" verlassen
Nach seiner jüngsten Operation wird Papst Franziskus das Krankenhaus nach Angaben des Vatikans "in den kommenden Tagen" verlassen. Der Heilungsprozess verlaufe den Ärzten zufolge planmäßig und ohne Komplikationen, was eine baldige Entlassung möglich mache, teilte Vatikansprecher Matteo Bruni am Mittwoch mit.
"Am Vormittag hat der Heilige Vater gearbeitet, vor dem Mittagessen hat er die kleine Kapelle der Privatwohnung besucht, wo er sich zum Gebet zurückgezogen und die Eucharistie empfangen hat", sagte Bruni weiter. Bis zum 18. Juni wurden allerdings alle päpstlichen Audienzen abgesagt.
Der 86-jährige Argentinier war am 7. Juni im Gemelli-Krankenhaus in Rom operiert worden. Angaben des Vatikans litt er an einem Gewebebruch an der Bauchdecke - eine Folge seiner Darmoperation im Juli 2021. Seitdem erholt sich Franziskus in der zehnten Etage des auch als "Klinik der Päpste" bekannten Gemelli-Krankenhauses, in demselben Zimmer, in dem damals auch schon Papst Johannes Paul II. behandelt wurde.
