Kardinal Marx will als Münchner Erzbischof im Amt bleiben
Der Erzbischof von München und Freising, Kardinal Reinhard Marx, wird nach dem Gutachten zum sexuellen Missbrauch in seinem Bistum nicht ein weiteres Mal Papst Franziskus seinen Rücktritt anbieten. "Ich bin bereit, auch weiterhin meinen Dienst zu tun, wenn das hilfreich ist", sagte Marx am Donnerstag vor Journalisten in München.
Marx schloss aber für die Zukunft ein neues Angebot des Amtsverzichts an den Papst nicht aus. "Ich klebe nicht an meinem Amt." Falls er selbst oder andere den Eindruck gewinnen sollten, er wäre für die weitere Aufarbeitung eher Hindernis als Hilfe, werde er sich kritisch hinterfragen. Allerdings wolle er das dann mit anderen besprechen - "in einer synodalen Kirche will ich das nicht mehr mit mir allein ausmachen".
Papst Franziskus hatte im vergangenen Jahr das Rücktrittsangebot von Marx abgelehnt und diesen mit der weiteren Aufarbeitung des sexuellen Missbrauchs betraut. Das vor einer Woche vorgestellte Missbrauchsgutachten zum Münchner Erzbistum hat aber laut Marx eine personelle Konsequenz. Prälat Lorenz Wolf, der durch das Gutachten belastet wurde, habe ihm mitgeteilt, dass er "alle seine Ämter und Aufgaben ruhen lassen will - damit bin ich einverstanden", sagte der Kardinal.
Damit zieht sich der Geistliche auch aus dem Rundfunkrat des Bayerischen Rundfunks zurück, dessen Vorsitzender Wolf zuletzt war. Es hatte wegen des Gutachtens bereits Rücktrittsforderungen an Wolf gegeben.
