"Regelverstöße": Parlamentspräsident in Vietnam tritt zurück
Wegen "Regelverstößen" und "Unzulänglichkeiten" hat in Vietnam Parlamentspräsident Vuong Dingh Hue seinen Rücktritt erklärt. Hue habe die Vorschriften für Parteimitglieder verletzt und sei seiner "Vorbildfunktion" nicht nachgekommen, teilte die Kommunistische Partei am Freitag mit. Die Regierungspartei geht seit einigen Jahren verstärkt gegen Korruption vor.
Hue war bisher einer der einflussreichsten Politiker des Landes. Sein Rücktrittsgesuch wurde vom Zentralkomitee der Kommunistischen Partei akzeptiert und muss noch vom Parlament bestätigt werden.
Zahlreiche prominente Geschäftsleute und Politiker hatten im Zuge des Vorgehens gegen Korruption im Land bereits ihren Hut nehmen müssen. Im März war Präsident Vo Van Thuong im Zusammenhang mit einem weitreichenden Korruptionsskandal zurückgetreten.
Die größte politische Macht in dem autoritär geführten südostasiatischen Land liegt beim Chef der Kommunistischen Partei, Nguyen Phu Trong. Er gilt auch als Architekt der Anti-Korruptionskampagne.
