Zahl der Kirchenaustritte in Köln bleibt auf hohem Niveau
Die Zahl der Kirchenaustritte in Köln bleibt weiterhin hoch. Das Amtsgericht Köln zählte im dritten Quartal dieses Jahres insgesamt 5090 Austritte, wie das Gericht am Freitag mitteilte. Im laufenden Jahr 2022 traten damit bislang 15.626 Menschen aus den christlichen Kirchen aus.
Ein Rekordhoch hatte die Zahl der Kirchenaustritte im vergangenen Jahr erreicht: Im gesamten Jahr traten in der Domstadt 19.372 Christen aus den Kirchen aus. Der bisher zweithöchste Wert war im Jahr 2019 erfasst worden, als rund zehntausend Kölner Gläubige der Kirche den Rücken kehrten.
Zwischen Konfessionen wird bei der statistischen Erfassung der Kirchenaustritte am Amtsgericht Köln nicht unterschieden. Allerdings liegt ein Zusammenhang mit dem Missbrauchsskandal im größten Erzbistum des Landes nahe.
