Cannes: Aki Kaurismäki bekommt für "Fallen Leaves" Preis de Jury
Der finnische Filmemacher Aki Kaurismäki ist für seinen melancholischen Film "Fallen Leaves" in Cannes mit dem Preis der Jury ausgezeichnet worden. Er erzählt die Geschichte zweier einsamer Mittdreißiger, die zueinander finden. Kaurismäki war zur Preisverleihung nicht anwesend, ließ aber eine Dankesbotschaft verlesen, die mit den Worten endete "Twist and shout".
Der japanische Filmemacher Hirokazu Kore-eda bekam den Preis für das beste Drehbuch für seinen Film "Monster". Der Film, der mit einem Mobbing-Drama an einer Schule beginnt, wurde zuvor bereits mit der "Queer Palm" ausgezeichnet worden. Kore-eda hatte 2019 bereits eine Goldene Palme mit "Shoplifters" gewonnen. Sowohl Kaurismäki als auch Kore-eda waren zuvor als Anwärter auf die Goldene Palme gehandelt worden.
