US-Schauspieler David Corenswet wird nächster Superman
Der US-Schauspieler David Corenswet wird als nächstes den roten Umhang anlegen und als neuer Superman auf der Kinoleinwand die Welt retten. Der Regisseur des für 2025 geplanten Films "Superman: The Legacy", James Gunn, bestätigte am Dienstag (Ortszeit) die Besetzung der Hauptrolle, über die zuvor in Medien berichtet worden war. Gunn bestätigte auch, dass Rachel Brosnahan, bekannt durch die Fernsehserie "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", für die Rolle der Journalistin Lois Lane gecastet wurde.
Corenswet wurde durch seine Rollen in mehreren erfolgreichen Serien bekannt, darunter die Netflix-Serien "Hollywood" und "The Politician" sowie "We Own This City" auf dem Streamingdienst HBO. Als neuer Superman tritt er in die Fußstapfen der Schauspieler Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh und Henry Cavill, die den Superhelden zuvor verkörpert hatten. Die Rolle des Superman gilt als eine der wichtigsten Filmrollen in Hollywood.
Hinter dem neuen Filmprojekt steht Warner Brothers. Das Filmunternehmen hatte im vergangenen Jahr den Regisseur James Gunn ("Guardians of the Galaxy") und den Produzenten Peter Safran ("Aquaman") beauftragt, die Superhelden-Geschichten des Verlags DC Comics für die Kinoleinwand wiederzubeleben - und damit den erfolgreichen Rivalen aus dem Hause Marvel etwas entgegenzusetzen.
