Dem britischen Musiker Damon Albarn hilft Yoga besser gegen Lampenfieber als Heroin. Die Comeback-Tour seiner Band Blur mit Konzerten im Londoner Wembley-Station hätte ihn als junger Mann "in unvorstellbare Panik versetzt" und richtige Angstanfälle ausgelöst, sagte der 55-Jährige der Nachrichtenagentur AFP in Paris. "Yoga hat mir enorm geholfen. Erst war es Heroin, aber damit habe ich selbstverständlich vor 100 Jahren aufgehört."
Inzwischen mache er fast jeden Tag Yoga und sei viel gelassener, berichtete Albarn. Yoga sei so wirksam, dass er es geradezu "absurd" finde, "dass es nicht in jeder Schule gelehrt wird".
Blur stand zusammen mit Oasis an der Spitze der Britpop-Welle in den 90er Jahren. In gut zwei Wochen erscheint nun das neunte Studioalbum von Blur. Das erste Album der Band seit "The Magic Whip" von 2015 wird am 21. Juli veröffentlicht und "The Ballad Of Darren" heißen.
Albarn berichtete, er habe im vergangenen Jahr angefangen neue Songs zu schreiben, als er mit seinem Bandprojekt Gorillaz in den USA auf Tour war. Er habe es aber niemandem erzählt - auch nicht den anderen Bandmitgliedern von Blur. Nach seinen Rückkehr nach Großbritannien im Januar habe er ihnen dann gesagt: "Kommt ins Studio, ich habe etwas, das ich Euch vorspielen kann." Er stellte der Band 20 Songs vor, von denen es zehn auf das neue Album geschafft haben.
