Fast drei Viertel aller Karpfen kommen aus Bayern und Sachsen
Fast drei Viertel aller Karpfen kommen aus Bayern und Sachsen. Im Jahr 2022 stammten insgesamt 4100 Tonnen aus diesen beiden Bundesländern, wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Donnerstag mitteilte. Bayern lieferte 38 Prozent des auch als Weihnachtsessen beliebten Fisches und Sachsen 35 Prozent. Es folgte Brandenburg mit einem Anteil von zwölf Prozent an der insgesamt erzeugten Menge.
Gut 1100 der 1400 Betriebe, die Karpfen züchten, liegen in Bayern. Der Karpfen zählt zu den wichtigsten Süßwasserspeisefischen. Knapp ein Viertel oder 24 Prozent der im vergangenen Jahr in deutschen Aquakulturbetrieben produzierten 17.800 Tonnen Fisch waren Karpfen. Nur von der Regenbogenforelle wurde mit knapp 6000 Tonnen eine noch größere Menge erzeugt.
Unter den Beilagen zum klassischen Weihnachtsessen dürfte Rotkohl beziehungsweise Blaukraut mit am beliebtesten sein. 2022 wurden in Deutschland knapp 112.400 Tonnen davon geerntet. Das war gut ein Fünftel weniger als im Vorjahr.
Nur beim Weißkohl wurde noch mehr geerntet - 384.700 Tonnen im vergangenen Jahr. Es folgten weitere Winterkohlarten wie Wirsing mit 32.200 Tonnen, Grünkohl mit 15.800 Tonnen und Rosenkohl mit 11.600 Tonnen.
