Verwechslung mit Spiderman-Star: Brite Tom Hollander sollte Millionen bekommen
Eine Verwechslung mit "Spiderman"-Star Tom Holland hätte dem britischen Schauspieler Tom Hollander fast eine Bonuszahlung in Millionenhöhe eingebracht. Bei einem Auftritt in der US-Sendung "Late Night with Seth Meyers" berichtete der 56-Jährige, die Verwechslung sei der Agentur unterlaufen, die auch den fast 30 Jahre jüngeren Holland vertritt.
In einer E-Mail habe ihm die Agentur eine "erstaunliche" Bonuszahlung für "The Avengers" angekündigt. "Ich glaube, ich spiele nicht in 'The Avengers' mit", habe er sich beim Lesen der E-Mail gedacht, erzählte Hollander dem Moderator Seth Meyers. Es habe sich um "eine erstaunliche Menge Geld" gehandelt. "Und es war nicht seine Gage, es war sein erster Einspielbonus. Nicht der gesamte Einspielbonus, sondern der erste", verriet Hollander.
Bei großen Hollywood-Filmen bekommen die Schauspieler nicht nur eine Gage, sondern auch an das Einspielergebnis gekoppelte Bonuszahlungen. Holland habe mehr Geld als Bonus erhalten, als er je bekommen habe, berichtete Hollander. "Es war eine siebenstellige Summe."
Andere Verwechslungen mit dem jüngeren Briten seien weniger angenehm gewesen, erzählte Hollander. "Ich werde manchmal den sehr, sehr aufgeregten, dann verwirrten und dann enttäuschten Kinder von irgendjemandem vorgestellt", berichtete der Schauspieler. Solche Situationen empfinde er als "schwierig". "Denn, wissen Sie, ich war zuerst da", witzelte er.
Hollander spielte unter anderem in "Stolz und Vorurteil", in zwei "Fluch der Karibik"-Filmen und zuletzt auch in der Erfolgsserie "The White Lotus" mit. Im US-Fernsehen warb Hollander nun für die zweite Staffel der Serie "Feud" über legendäre Fehden. In "Capote vs. The Swans" spielt er den Schriftsteller Truman Capote. Holland, der ebenfalls Brite ist, wurde als Spiderman in den Filmen des Superhelden-Filmstudios Marvel weltbekannt.
