Der Streamingdienst Netflix zeigt ab dem 25. Juni eine Reihe über die mit der Band Tokio Hotel zu Weltstars gewordenen Brüder Tom und Bill Kaulitz. Bei "Kaulitz & Kaulitz" treffe Dokumentation auf Realityfernsehen, sagte Netflix-Managerin Wiebke Schodder dem Mediendienst DWDL. Mit dieser Mischung gebe es eine "neue Farbe" in dem Genre der Reihen mit Prominenten wie etwa das Erfolgsformat "The Kardashians".
Die Produktion für das über acht Folgen geplante "Kaulitz & Kaulitz" läuft demnach bereits seit dem vergangenen Sommer, mal in Los Angeles, mal in Deutschland. Mal sei mit Tokio Hotel gedreht worden, mal ohne. "Möglicherweise kommt auch Heidi Klum vor", sagte Schodder. Die Moderatorin ist mit Tom Kaulitz liiert. Der 34-Jährige nutzte die Bekanntgabe des Serienstarts für seinen ersten Post bei Instagram - obwohl Kaulitz dort eine Million Follower hat, war er bislang nie aktiv.
