Habeck kündigt "robuste Antwort" der EU auf Subventionen in den USA an
Wirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) hat eine "robuste Antwort" der EU auf die Subventionen der USA in den eigenen Ausbau der Erneuerbaren angekündigt. Deutschland als Exportnation profitiere zwar auch von dem Aufschwung und den hohen Investitionen, gleichwohl gebe es eine "negative Seite", die sich an den Vorschriften festmache, in den USA zu produzieren. "Das ist aus unserer Sicht nicht WTO-kompatibel", sagte Habeck in Berlin mit Blick auf die Regeln der Welthandelsorganisation.
Europa werde "mit den Amerikanern reden, ob das wirklich das letzte Wort ist", sagte Habeck. Zugleich sei eine "eigene europäische robuste Antwort" nötig. Europa müsse ebenfalls "seine Hausaufgaben machen", sagte der Minister und erwähnte unter anderem schnellere Investitionsbedingungen und Entscheidungen zu Förderprojekten.
Der im Sommer verabschiedete Inflation Reduction Act in den USA sieht rund 370 Milliarden Dollar für den Ausbau von erneuerbaren Energien und andere Klimaschutzmaßnahmen vor. BDI-Präsident Siegfried Russwurm bezeichnete vor dem Hintergrund der Energiekrise und der hohen Kosten die Gefahr einer Abwanderung deutscher Firmen als "real".
